I jumped on Kristina Lloyd’s ass the second it became available. Wait, let me explain. A little while ago erotica wonder woman Alison Tyler put out a call for reviews of stories from The Ass Trilogy she edited and, as I’ve said before, I loved Smart Ass and it was Kristina Lloyd‘s My Ass Is Your Ass Is My Ass that pulled me in. So, naturally, I jumped at the chance to sing Kristina’s praises once again. (And I also didn’t want to miss out on being part of something called ‘The Ass Tour’.)
I remember it well, the five minute break I thought I’d take when I started reading the first few paragraphs of My Ass Is Your Ass Is My Ass. An hour later I was still glued to my Kindle, my cheeks flushed and my psyche thoroughly confused. And all because of a story in which two men battle for a barmaid’s butt. It kind of took me by surprise, you see. I hadn’t read anything by Kristina Lloyd yet and I had no idea her stellar, poetic but to-the-point writing would make me adore a story about a woman engaging in anal sex with two men and leave me staring at my Kindle for a good, long while, wondering what the hell had just happened. I was still fairly new to the erotica world and I simply didn’t know it could be like that. I guess you could say that an anal sex anthology made me see what it was all about. But enough about me, let’s talk about Kristina.
What makes My Ass Is Your Ass Is My Ass so special is the fantastic writing. Kristina has an extraordinary way with words, a way which made me go gaga about two penises vying for a woman’s ass (which is quite extraordinary for me.) Her language is tight, original and so beautiful. (Case in point, from barmaid Coral’s inner monologue: “Scratch me, and I’ll bleed you a rainbow.”) The story is fearless, raunchy and unapologetic. Oh, and sizzling hot. Coral is fully in charge and knows how to get her men where she wants them (behind her.) And Kristina Lloyd, well, she’s my hero. I hope she doesn’t mind me sharing the last sentence of the story, the one that hooked me once and for all.
“And though I didn’t say anything, I thought they’d understand if I told them there were galaxies behind my eyes and rainbows beneath my skin.”
