NEW RELEASE: Release the Stars

RTS_ebook_final_newsletterToday is the ‘official release day’ for Release the Stars, though it has been available from Amazon since Friday, making for a bit of a crazy weekend at Casa Bliss. 😉 Release the Stars is my third full-length standalone novel (that’s not counting French Kissing and High Rise) and it most certainly won’t be my last. (The next one’s almost ready! ;-))

Release the Stars tells the story of Charlie Cross , a novelist turned screenwriter who moves to Hollywood after suffering some major heartbreak in New York.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to write a story about a writer moving to Hollywood and having finally done it is a big source of satisfaction. Charlie is very rough around the edges and, really, needs to be re-schooled in love. And who better to accomplish that than a gorgeous TV cooking show host?

There are quite a few dramatic twists and turns in this book, a hilarious gay side-kick and a very wise lesbian best friend. There’s softball, glitzy Hollywood parties, lots of drinking (as usual), and a gorgeous Malibu beach. This is one of my tamer books, I must admit. I wanted to tone it down a little after Once in a Lifetime, which (for me) pushed the boundaries quite a bit. In the end, it’s a pretty straightforward love story (because deeply flawed characters deserve love too!)

I hope you enjoy Charlie’s journey (because, boy, does she need to go on one!)

Here’s the blurb for Release the Stars:

Can love be measured in percentages?

After her girlfriend leaves her for a man, broken-hearted novelist Charlie Cross moves from New York to Los Angeles to work on a TV show based on her books. Charlie vows to never date any woman who isn’t a hundred percent certain of being a lesbian. But when she is seduced by gorgeous bisexual cooking show host Ava Castaneda, whom she’s had a celebrity crush on for ages, Charlie is forced to review her belief in percentages because true love could very well be on the line.

Release the Stars is a contemporary lesbian romance novel set in the glitzy world of Hollywood.
