Here’s a reminder of what A Breathless Place is about:

When all hope is lost, can music be the ultimate lifeline?

Isabel ‘Izzy’ Adler used to dominate the world’s stages with her vocal acrobatics. But since she lost her voice ten years ago, Izzy’s been to hell—and hasn’t found her way back.

When journalist Leila Zadeh is brought in to finish her biography, Izzy’s dark plans for her life are challenged by the brilliant and gorgeous new woman in her life.

Will the instant attraction between them be enough to stop Izzy from playing out her final song?

Best-selling lesbian romance author Harper Bliss brings you a hopeful story about what it takes to choose life again—and the incredible power of artistic expression.

★★★★★ “There is so much hope and power in this story, it’s simply magnificent.”

★★★★★ “Beautifully written, powerful novel about the strength of your own voice.”

Needless to say, I’m over the moon with Abby Craden as a narrator for this book, especially because it means so much to me. And trust me: she does NOT disappoint!

(Cheeky) warning: do not read/listen to this book if you believe women above a certain age should no longer ‘get it on’! 😉

On a more serious note: some of the reviews for this book really touched me. Even my Mrs admitted to having an emotion at reading a few of them, and that doesn’t happen very often. 😉

Happy listening! 🎧

  1. I actually listened to this book, vs reading it. I am a huge Abby Craden fan, and this is the first book I have read by Harper Bliss. I loved it. I actually finished it today. I think it really hit hard. I have dealt with suicidal feelings more than once over the years. As I became engrossed in the story I connected with Isabel. Having that pain inside, sometimes you just can’t see anything but that pain. When Leila read Izzy’s letter I got tears in my eyes. To have one person care that much about you, just so emotional. And showing Izzy that even with all of her rationalizations, her desire to end her life was selfish. Perhaps it is hitting me extra hard because I am not in a great place, but what a beautifully written story. Not shying away from tough, real emotions, seeing life through another’s eyes. Izzy and Leila make me want to hope for love. Well done Harper, thank you for such a great story with wonderful characters. I will definitely be checking out more of your work.
