The Ladylit work force doubles

Because today, we go from 1 to 2! 😉

Today my wife joins Ladylit officially and I’ve been (literally) pining for this day (also because today is a public holiday and we’re, ironically, not working.) I’m someone with a lot of big ideas, but no time to execute them–also, 90% of my ideas should never even be considered for execution–because, for me, writing always comes first. I can enjoy all the aspects of the publishing trade (editing, cover designing, marketing, admin, accounts etc.), but they will always come second to what I love most (e.g. creating hot lesbo drama.)

What I’m trying to say is that I seriously overstretched myself when we founded Ladylit (and then A Hotter State) and I strongly believed I’d be able to manage all of that by myself, on top of trying to write (plus edit & publish) 400.000 words this year. Obviously, I couldn’t. But then the news came that my wife had either the choice of keeping her job and moving back to Belgium (taking me with her) or staying in Hong Kong and finding another job. We did the math. Acquired the visa. And decided to stay. To say these are exciting times would be an understatement.

So, here we are. Ready for a new adventure. We have our office all set up and a bucketload of plans. First up is another multi-author mini-anthology, the Forbidden Fruit anthology edited by Cheyenne Blue (still 2 weeks left to submit your story!), the boxed set of French Kissing, followed by several single author mini-anthologies by some extremely talented authors who have waited very patiently for May to come around.

So, let’s all welcome my lovely wife to the world of publishing lesbian erotica and romance. I told her it looks very good on a business card. 😉
